I’m Chad Bass.
Electrification & Energy Infrastructure Executive | EV Charging · OEM · EVSE · Grid-Connected Platforms
I'm an energy infrastructure and product executive with 20+ years building complex platforms from the ground up — spanning grid-connected systems, EVSE manufacturing, OEM ecosystems, and distributed energy environments. My work sits at the intersection of product strategy, infrastructure deployment, and commercial execution — translating technical complexity into scalable, real-world solutions that deliver measurable outcomes.
What I Do
Building grid-connected infrastructure platforms from concept through commercial launch
Defining product architecture across hardware, software, and energy systems
Driving go-to-market strategy and ecosystem partnership development
Aligning engineering, manufacturing, commercial, and operations teams to deliver at scale
Translating complex technical and regulatory requirements into clear business strategy
Career Highlights
Led a 30-person cross-functional team to bring the Wayne PWR grid-connected infrastructure platform from concept to commercial launch in under 24 months — 98.6% uptime across initial deployments
Built Porsche's entire North American charging infrastructure ecosystem from scratch — including the Electrify America partnership that became an industry benchmark adopted by competing automakers
Served as primary bridge between network engineering and OEM partners at EVgo across one of the largest public DC fast charging networks in the U.S.
My Edge
What differentiates my experience is a rare end-to-end perspective across all three sides of the infrastructure stack — network operator, OEM, and manufacturer. I've built programs, platforms, and partnerships from business case through executive approval through real-world deployment — and I'm equally comfortable working through technical architecture with engineers and presenting investment decisions to C-suite leadership.
Forward-Looking
I'm focused on the next phase of energy infrastructure — where grid-connected systems, distributed energy resources, and industrial electrification converge to power the built environment at scale. The companies that will win are those that can build reliable, commercially viable infrastructure platforms in complex, multi-stakeholder environments. That's where I operate.
